Orchestral Qawwali Project

Rushil Ranjan, the writer, director, and composer of this project, has brought a fresh perspective to qawwali music. By blending orchestral elements of poetry, Indian classical dance and collaborating with singer Abi Sampa conductor Melvin Tay in preparation for their performance at London's iconic Roundhouse. This innovative approach infuses diverse flavours into the art form. Their arrangements make the art form unique and appeal to a contemporary audience.

I had the privilege of documenting both rehearsal’s leading up to the show.
